There are numerous variations with different composition. This is one of the famous traditional Arabic dessert which is very yummy. Bahan yang dibutuhkan untuk membuat Umm Ali (Traditional Egyptian Dessert)

  1. Tambahkan 5 buah Mini Pastry Croissant.
  2. Ambil 300 ml Skimmed Milk (merk Greenfields), bisa dikombinasikan dengan evaporated milk.
  3. Ambil 50 ml Whipping Cream (merk Anchor).
  4. Siapkan 1 sdt Susu Bubuk (merk Dancow).
  5. Ambil 30 gr Gula Pasir Putih (sesuaikan selera).
  6. Tambahkan 1/2 sdt Vanilla Extract.
  7. Siapkan 1 sdm Cinnamon Powder (merk Jay’s), kalau punya utuh akan lebih baik.
  8. Siapkan 1/4 sdt Kapulaga Bubuk.
  9. Ambil 10 gr Unsalted Butter (merk Elle & Vire).
  10. Ambil secukupnya Himsalt.
  11. Tambahkan Pelengkap.
  12. Tambahkan 3 sdm Almond Slice (sesuai selera).
  13. Siapkan 1 1/2 sdm Kismis (sesuai selera), yg sudah direndam air mendidih.

Om Ali or Umm Ali is the Egyptian equivalent to the western bread pudding. A traditional Egyptian dessert of soaked bread, milk and loads of nuts. In short, it is said that this dessert was made to celebrate the death of Shagaret Ad-dorr- who was the first and last woman - sultana - to rule Egypt. One of the most famous and delicious Egyptian desserts dates back to the rule of Shagarat el-Dour.

Cara mengolah Umm Ali (Traditional Egyptian Dessert)

  1. Potong pastry lalu tata di wadah alumfoil..
  2. Siapkan panci, campur semua bahan (kecuali cinnamon powder, kapulaga, butter) lalu aduk & nyalakan kompor dengan api sedang. Masukkan cinnamon & kapulaga lalu aduk rata sampai mendidih. Tambahkan butter, aduk sampai mencair. Lalu matikan kompor..
  3. Masukkan bahan pelengkap, aduk rata. Tuang ke dalam alumfoil, siram diatas pastry yg sudah dipotong..
  4. Panggang dengan oven selama 10 menit (sesuaikan oven masing2), menggunakan api atas bawah..
  5. Kemudian keluarkan loyang dari oven, siap disajikan hangat maupun dingin (simpan dulu di lemari es). Kalau saya lebih suka dinikmati ketika dingin pas baru keluar dari lemari es 😋.
